We are approaching the 1-year anniversary of our K-12 Educator Discount Program. Our initial goal was to show our educators how much we appreciate what they do for our community, our kids, and our future. We know how hard their job is and that their paychecks do not reflect the value they bring to our communities. We have witnessed firsthand how they pour so much of themselves into our kids and families and know that at the end of the week they often do not have much left for their own families.
We not only wanted educators to be able to access items for their classroom at a lower cost, but we also wanted them to have games for their homes – to be able to use what energy they had left to create memories with their children, partners and parents. And we are so pleased with the feedback: the texts, pictures, and the stories they tell us when they visit the store. Those moments are what makes board gaming great.
As we enter year 2, our new goal is to make the program sustainable for many years to come. To make this possible, starting June 1st we have made the following adjustments: Traditional school setting educators serving grades K-12 will continue to receive 20% off most purchases. This discount ONLY applies to the educator, and they are required to present their physical school ID EVERY purchase. Our intent is to maintain consistency for staff and customers, ensuring we will be able to invest in this program for many years to come.
