"Before the Worms pulls out the core of horror conspiracy roleplaying. It is the rawest, simplest, most clear-eyed portrayal I've seen of the fear and drama that we try to achieve when playing games like Delta Green, Night's Black Agents, Hunter, or any other game where mortals stand against monsters It speaks to familiar suffering and gives the best answer a game can give. I want to tell everyone about this game."

Before the Worms is an "Anti-Cosmic Horror" roleplaying game focused squarely on the human scale, human stakes, and human evil: a game about fierce and stubborn hope in the face of an enemy that cannot be fully defeated.
You have seen the Worms. Parasites that feed on suffering. You can't go back. Because now they see you too. They don't control us. Worse: they encourage us. There are no gods. No aliens. No sorcery to blame. No magical solutions. There is only us. Alone. Together. Before the Worms.
The game uses a diceless system that requires only a standard deck of playing cards and focuses on what characters are willing to sacrifice to get what they want. It be run as a solo game, or with a GM and 1 - 6 other players, in sessions of 3 - 4 hours, working either as a one-shot or a miniseries of 5 - 10 sessions.
As a dark horror game that often focuses on intense themes, it is best suited for ages 18+.
