Join the Mimics for and hour of learning through play. Each registrant will receive a DIY Flashlight by Ambessa Play to build.
After a short explanation of electrical circuits, participants will have the opportunity to use what they've learned to build their own flashlight (staff on hand to take them through each step). When flashlights are complete, we will conduct shadow experiments and discuss how the sun's position in relation to the earth affects shadows and even tells time.
Sessions will be led by Elizabeth, our Community Outreach Coordinator and Special Guest Young Scientist William Heise, an aspiring astrophysicist who has recently been published in The Journal of Young Physicists.
There are two opportunities to attend this event: Wednesday June 17th 4:30-5:30 or Monday June 29th 4:30-5:30. Cost is $25/participant
